After last season’s success, the Tiger Soccer team wanted more.  They felt there was some unfinished business they needed to complete, namely winning a State title.  The team came two games away from doing that and was hungry to return to the Tournament.

South opened the conference season with a flourish.  The first six games were all shutouts!  It seemed as if no one could touch the Tigers.  Two games were close, but no one scored on the Tigers.  Edison was the first to fall, 9-0.  Henry was next at 11-0.  Southwest gave the Tigers a run for their money, but could not score.  The final was 1-0.  North fell 13-0.  Washburn put up a fight but still lost 2-0.  Roosevelt fell 11-0 to end the first half of the conference season.

Edison played an extremely hard game.  They were the only team to score a goal during the conference season.  Unfortunately for the Tommies, they still lost 3-2.

The remainder of the conference game were shutouts.  Henry fell 5-0.  Southwest played another 1-0 game, which ended when South scored a goal in overtime.  North fell 14-0.  Washburn again lost 2-0.  Roosevelt finished the conference season losing 5-0.

In non-conference games, South was 3-3.  South defeated Eden Prairie, 3-0, Minnehaha Academy, 7-0, and Breck, 6-1.  South lost to St. Paul Academy, 4-0, Bloomington Jefferson, 1-0 in overtime, and Burnsville, 3-1.

South won the Minneapolis Conference for the second consecutive season with a 12-0 record.  Overall, the team was 15-3.  Simon Whitehead was the head coach.  He was assisted by R. Gee.
