The South Cross Country team believed it turned a corners last season when they defeated Roosevelt in the Region Meet, avenging their loss in the Conference Meet.  The goal this season was to win the city title as well as the region title.  Coaches Warren Kaari and Craig Canham pushed the team to perform to their best.

South opened the season participating in the Nokomis Invitational.  A tough field saw the Tigers finish in 7th place.

Traveling to New Ulm, the Tigers participated in the Invitational meet.  South finished in fourth place.

In the Twin City Grade Level meet, scores were not kept, but the Tigers believed they made a good showing.

At the Apple Valley Invitational, South finished a strong 8th place.

Old time rivals South, Southwest and Washburn participated in a triangular meet, however the scores were not reported.

At the Burnsville Invitational, South finished sixth.  They improved to third place in the Rim River Invitational in Anoka.

South finished the regular season participating in the Miller Relay.  South claimed first place in the meet, which served as a tune up for the Conference Meet.

At the Conference Meet, South ran away with the title, scoring 27 points and beating Roosevelt by 21.  Southwest and Washburn tied for third and Edison finished 5th.  Henry and North did not have enough runners for a team score.  South claimed four of the top five places.  Kathy Cameron took the individual championship running in 12:24.00.  Joining Cameron as point scorers were Heather Allen, 3rd place, Kirsten Hanlon, 4th place, Tona Willand, 5th place, and Alexia Passe, 14th place.

At the Region 5AA Meet, South ran their hearts out, but finished in second place.  However, second place was good enough to make their second State Meet.

At the State Meet, the Tigers finished in 12th place.
