For the second season in a row, the Tigers were greeted by the same head coach they had the prior season.  Wilford Schulz’s return gave the Tigers consistency.  The team knew his system and were prepared for a successful year, hopefully.

The Tigers had a major setback when they took on defending champions Washburn.  The Millers beat up the Tigers by an 8-0 score.

South bounced back against Roosevelt.  A 5-2 win was the impetus for a winning streak.  That was followed by a close game with Edison, which resulted with a 3-2 win.

Against North, the Tigers let out their pent-up frustrations, outscoring the Polars by ten, 11-1!    The Tigers ran their winning streak to four games with a 7-0 shutout of Henry.

The streak was broken against Southwest.  The Tigers played a good game, but fell 3-0.  The losing streak continued when Washburn again defeated the Tigers by an 8-0 score.

South broke their losing streak against Roosevelt.  The Teddies fell 4-1.  Edison was shut out 1-0 in a very close game.  North fell 6-1, as did Henry, 4-0.  The Tigers had another four game winning streak.

South hoped to end the season on a winning record.  Their final opponent was Southwest.  Southwest needed a win to clinch a tie with Washburn for the conference title.  Washburn played their final conference game a week earlier.  South tried to keep up with Southwest but Southwest was too powerful and won 5-0, clinching a share of the title.

South finished with an 8-4 conference record, in third place.  The Assistant Coach was Carrie Schulz.
