With returning team members that experienced success, things looked up for the Tiger Soccer program.  However, players had to adapt to a new system brought in by new Head Coach Tom Dooher and his assistant Ralph Akale.  Co-Captains Walter Kopf and Tim Steller were on hand to help the new coaching staff if needed.

South opened against perennial favorite Washburn.  The Millers easily won 5-1.

South then experienced success, winning five matches in a row.  South started the streak with a 4-0 win over Henry.  That was followed by slim 3-2 wins over North, Edison and Roosevelt. The streak was completed with a 2-0 shutout of Southwest.

For the second time in the season, South fell to Washburn, this time 5-0.  This was followed with a loss to Henry.  Up to this game Henry has NEVER beaten South.  The score was not reported.

South bounced back with another 3-2 win over North and a 0-0 tied against Edison.

Roosevelt shocked the Tigers giving South a 3-1 loss.  The conference season ended on a positive note with a 4-1 win over Southwest.

South finished the season with a 7-4-1 record, second to Washburn.
