The Minneapolis City Conference decided to swim a shorter conference schedule this season.  Each conference team would be competed against just once. This allowed teams to participate in non-conference meets and tournaments.

South opened the conference season against Edison.  In the battle of the “big cats” the Tigers clawed the Tommies 56-26.  This was followed by another wildlife battle when the Tigers faced the Teddies.  Roosevelt fell to the bear-eating Tigers  37-29.  The third straight nature battle was against the Polars.  South again fed on the bears, this time of the Polar variety, improving their record to 3-0.  The final score was 40-31. (OK the wildlife puns are done with.)

South took on Southwest in their next contest.  Southwest easily won 60-21.  In the highest scoring meet of the season, Washburn and South amassed more than 170 points.  The Millers came out on top 93-78.

In the last meet of the season Henry was the opponent.  In a stunning outcome, neither team won!  The score ended 41-41!

South finished with a 3-2-1 record, good for third place.  The Tigers were again coached by Mike and Neil Anderson.
