South returned to the gymnastics mat after not fielding a team the prior three season.  However, the season began with the team looking to not have a team.  The first three meets scheduled were cancelled.  Fortunately, all three were re-scheduled for later in the season.

The first meet the Tigers participated in was against Washburn.  The Millers were victorious, 122.05-87.65, but participating in the meet showed the Tigers were back.  North was their second opponent.  South won this meet 85.8-32.2, Roosevelt and Southwest both defeated the Tigers.  The Teddies won 114.995-98.6.  Southwest won 105-99.

The meet against Henry is a mystery.  The results of the meet were not reported.

Washburn again defeated the Tigers 119.9-109.4.  Even though South lost the meet, there was a bright side.  The Tigers 109.4 points was the most the team has ever scored in the history of the program.

The Tigers won against North, 87.9-28.7. The next two meets were both losses, but again, the Tigers scores over 100 points in both of them.  Roosevelt won 112.35-101.8 and Edison won 107.25-101.8.

The results of most JV meets were not reported.  The only meets scores reported were three losses, to Washburn twice, and Roosevelt.

The Varsity team ended with a 2-6 conference record.  Even though the season was not a winning season, the team can consider it a success because the team lasted the entire season.  This gives the Tigers something to build upon for the future
