This year, the Women’s basketball team was more determined than ever.  They ended the season with a 6-10 record.

The girls had long and hard practices coached by Don Sovell and Teresa Askew.  They showed much enthusiasm throughout each game.  They were led by Captain Melanie Frazier, who was the team’s top scorer.

The first conference game was against Central.  Central dominated the game, winning by 30, 51-21.  The Tigers evened their record with a 6 point victory over West, 50-44.  Washburn and Roosevelt then beat the Tigers.  Washburn won by 28, 51-23.  Roosevelt squeaked past the Tigers 31-29.

In the first conference game after Winter Break, the Tigers defeated the Polars 42-35.  Unfortunately, four more losses would occur before their next conference win.  Southwest, 8-25, Henry, 53-28, Edison 28-27, and Central, 37-28, all beat the Tigers.

The Tigers again beat West, 40-28.  They then lost to Washburn 44-25.  Roosevelt was beaten 58-53, as was North, 34-28.  Two more losses to Southwest, 42-27, and Henry, 46-38 and then one final win against Edison, 42-41, brought the season to an end.

The JV ended the season with a 5-11 record.  They defeated Central and West twice and split with Roosevelt.  Washburn, North, Southwest, Henry and Edison swept the JV.
