The Tigers were hoping to improve from last season’s poor showing.  This year, the team showed some improvement, keeping most games close and doubling the number of wins.

South opened the season against Roosevelt.  The Teddies won but the coaches, Eric Magdanz and David Berg, felt the team played hard.  The next two games were blow outs.  Henry won by 35, 82-47 and West won by 26, 85-59.

The Tigers won their first game against Southwest.  This game was a back and forth affair.  It seemed that the team with the ball last would probably win.  In the end, South won by the slimmest of margins, 56-55.

The three of the next four games brought back the nightmares from last season.  Central won by 63, 111-48.  Edison won, but the score was not reported. North then won by 61, 98-37.  Washburn won by only 33, 73-40.

The Tigers were competitive against Roosevelt.  The Teddies pulled away at the end of the game for an 83-66 win.  Against Henry, the two teams seemed to exchange baskets.  Unfortunately, Henry came away with the win 71-68.  West, 90-63, Southwest, 82-64, and Central, 77-40, all beat South.

The Tigers won the second, and last, game of the season against Edison.  The two teams played a competitive game with the final score being 62-58.

According to the yearbook, Coach Magdanz thought this year’s team improved a lot and he wished the Seniors could return next season.  The outlook is positive, with many Juniors returning.
