The 1975-76 Women’s Basketball team began the year with the same promise it started with last season.  Unlike last season this season met the beginning expectations.  Practices were long and hard, but in the end, the hard work paid off with the first winning season, winning 8 games and losing 6. In conference games, the team was 5-4.

South defeated Central in a close 33-32 game.  They also won another close game, 38-36 against Washburn.  The victory against Henry had a little bit of a cushion, 38-33.  Double-digit victories against Southwest, 43-33, and West, 36-23, ended the conference wins.

The Tigers lost to Edison, 38-35, North, 34-22, Roosevelt, 40-34, and Southwest by a very close 31-30 score.

In non-conference game, the Tigers were victorious against St. Paul Washington by a 49-15 score. They also defeated Park Center 52-29 and Edina West 36-32.

Non-conference losses were to two Catholic schools, Regina by a 50-31 score and Fridley Grace by 10 points, 47-37.

The Junior Varsity finished the season with a 3-8 record.

At the end of the season, Head Coach Kirk Nelson announced that Junior Pam Finch was selected as the named to the All-Conference Team by the Minneapolis City Conference coaches for the second consecutive year. Willie Owens was the assistant coach in charge of the Junior Varsity.
