Consistency.  That is what winning at sports is about.  Since the 1961/62 and 1962/63 seasons, the South Cross Country team did not have consistency in leadership.  Every year since then they have had a difference coach, until this season, when Warren Kaari began his second season at the helm of the Tigers.

The 1969 South Yearbook stated that the Cross Country had its best season in many years.  Only one dual meet score was reported.  South defeated 26-31.

At the Conference Meet, South finished a disappointing eighth place.  They were only five points out of seventh place, which was held by Vocational.  Alden Johnson, finishing 27th, was South;s best runner at the Conference Meet.  Meet champion, Southwest, advanced to the State Meet.

South expects to be better next season, since only one runner is graduating.
