Again, the 1965-1966 wrestling season was again disappointing.  The team won only three matches while losing seven during the conference season.

The team began with a loss to Washburn, 30-14.  That followed five other losses to Henry, 32-18, Marshall 27-23, West, 32-16, Roosevelt 37-10, and Vocational 40-12.

South earned their first victory of the season over North by a convincing 46-7 score.  Southwest then defeated the Tigers 25-19.

South ended the conference season with a two game winning streak, defeating Central, 28-19, and Edison, 25-19.

In the District 17 tournament, South and Southwest tied for 5 place.  However, Bill Miller became the first South wrestler to earn a spot in the State Individual Wrestling Tournament

For the fourth year, Robert Lee was the head coach.  This season, Gary Greening assisted Mr. Lee.
