Although the wrestling team failed to won one of their nine meets this season, the team had some standouts of the conference that were constant point-getters.

The season began when Mr. Rainey could not coach because he was taking classes at the University of Minnesota working toward a doctorate degree.  He was replaced by Mr. Bambenek.

Things went from bad to worse when the Tigers lost their opening meets to Vocational 43-13.  The team continued to go downhill, losing to Washburn 46-6, Central 30-25, North 41-13, Henry 40-16, West 43-10, Marshall 44-8 and finally Roosevelt 45-5.

The team ended the season participating in the District 17 meet, finishing in 8th place out of nine teams. South scores 11 points in the District meet.

Jim Fisher, who put on weight over the summer, was forced to change from the weight division in which he was undefeated last year.  This did not hamper him, though he stayed undefeated again this year and advanced to the regional meet. Nick Predvichny, a suprising newcomer, and Jack Becker, the captain, also were outstanding.  If all the underclassmen of the squad return, the next two seasons should be good ones.
