As with last year, the basketball season, most of the team played only eight conference games.  Henry and Marshall played nine games and Central played 10 games.  South did not play North or Vocational.

South opened the season against Central.  Central was not a good test for the Tigers.  South seemed to have their way with Central while winning 40-24.

South then took on West.  South seemed to have their skills working like a well-oiled machine, winning against by 16, 44-28.

The first real challenge came against Washburn.  Both team worked hard and scored often.  However, the Millers scored just a few more than the Tigers, winning 44-40.

Another school that did not give the Tigers much trouble was Henry.  Winning by 14, South took control from the beginning on their way to a 42-28 win.

South then ran into two teams that were very tough.  Southwest has really come on since joining the conference.  The teams fought back and forth for the entire game.  Defense played a big role for both teams.  For the second time in Southwest school history the defeated the Tigers.  This time by one point, 25-24!

South proved very little competition for Roosevelt.  The Teddies seemed to do want they wanted when they wanted.  Roosevelt won 39-20.

South won their last two games of the season, a 38-27 win over Marshall and a 39-34 victory over Edison.

Luther Mona’s Tigers finished tied for fourth place with a 5-3 reccord.
