As Orville Olson began planning for the 1931-1932 Cross Country season, he knew he had a team that would be competitive.  With many returning runners, he hoped to be a factor in determining the conference championship.

South opened the season against Edison.  The Tigers were too powerful for the team from Northeast.  South won 110-10.

A few days later, South and West clashed.  The Tigers again won handily, 106-14.

In the third meet of the season, Roosevelt and South faced off.  In a much closer contest, South win 70-50.  According to the 1932 South Yearbook, Francis Doyle set a school and course record.  Lofte, who came in second, also broke the records.

South won two other meets.  The defeated the Farm School, and took first in the Twin City “Y” meet.

The Tigers also claimed the Conference Meet title.
