According to the 1904 yearbook, “The B.B. season at South this year, while not a success, was certainly not a failure either financially or otherwise.  Lack of material was partially responsible for this as it was necessary to pick the team from a limited amount of green material.”

Only six men turned out for practice.  They were very devoted to the tam however.  The team members were Peter Ostrand (captain), Norman Colburn, Arthur Larson, Leo Harris, George Capron and George Ornes.

The team opened their season against Company B of the National Guard stationed in Anoka.  This was a close game with South coming out on top by an 11-9 score. The team also defeated St. Thomas in a closer scores, winning 10-9.  They lost to St. Paul Central, 19-16, Hudson, WI 19-12, and Anoka 18-14.

South played two conference games.  They lost to Central 19-6.  The yearbook said, “There was no sting in this defeat as we lost to gentlemen who thoroughly understood the game.” South defeated East by a very close 16-15 score.

The team finished with a 3-4 overall record, and 1-1 against the Minneapolis schools.
